New Mortal Kombat 1 Update Released for PS5, Xbox, and PC

NetherRealm Studios today released a new update for Mortal Kombat 1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms. Following its release earlier this month, NetherRealm has released the first patch for MK1, which includes many immediate improvements to the fighting game. Now, after fans have had their hands on the latest Mortal Kombat game for a while, another new update has arrived, including many smaller changes.

Overall, Mortal Kombat 1’s latest update doesn’t seek to improve too many features. Notably, NetherRealm has fixed several issues affecting invasions, missions, and various locations in the game. MK1 has also received some stability improvements while the PC version of the game has added new options regarding keyboard mapping and motion blur.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about today’s update is that it doesn’t affect the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 1. Previously, NetherRealm said it would consider improving MK1 on Switch due to that port’s lackluster release . Specifically, the Invasions single-player mode lacks all of Season 1’s content, which makes fans extremely disappointed. While a patch for this Switch version is certainly still being worked on, it’s not yet available. You can check out the full patch notes for this new Mortal Kombat 1 update below.
