Jujutsu Kaisen is an adaptation of the manga with the same title by Gege Akutami which was first released on March 5 2018. Currently, the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has 24 volumes including 217 chapters.
The Jujutsu manga from chapter 218 to the latest chapter released on September 10 2023 – chapter 235 “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown” part 13 – is not yet in tankobon form. This anime adaptation was directed by director Shouta Goshozono replacing Sunghoo Park who worked on the previous part. The script produced by Studio MAPPA was again worked on by Hiroshi Seko.
The story of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is based on the fifth part of the manga (chapters 65 to 79) “Gojo’s Past Arc” and the sixth part (chapters 79 to 136) “Shibuya Incident Arc”.
The anime version of the story is divided into two parts, namely “Hidden Inventory” which airs in the first 5 episodes and the remaining 18 episodes will discuss the story “Shibuya Incident”.
Since it first aired on July 6 2023, this summer 2023 anime has continuously made a splash on BStation. As of September 11 2023, this anime still has not moved position and is in second place with a total of 28.1 million views.

Last week on Thursday, September 7 2023, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 released episode 7 entitled “Evening Festival” which is translated from “Yoimatsuri”. The final episode, which was adapted from manga chapters 80 to chapter 83, tells the continuation of the battle between Kokichi Muta or Mechamaru and the cursed spirit Mahito.
This episode’s story begins with Mahito surviving the Ultimate Canon attack from Mechamaru’s Absolute mode. Mahito continuously jumps up and down without fear to avoid Mechamaru’s punches and kicks.
Kokichi then realizes that normal attacks cannot harm Mahito’s soul. Kokichi then uses the equivalent of two years’ worth of cursed energy to release the Magic Cannon.
Mahito still avoided serious damage to his body and only caused his clothes to catch fire. A fist from a large and strong hand then flew towards Mechamaru and shook the cockpit.
While his body was still weak, Kokichi used his time to observe everything, including how to hurt Mahito. According to Geto’s observations, some of Kokichi’s high-end attacks are even considered equivalent to special-level cursed creatures. Something like that was seen when Mechamaru fired a bullet containing a cursed technique into Mahito’s shoulder. Unexpectedly, the attack caused his entire left arm to explode.

Ten days later, at seven in the evening of October 31 2018, a curtain was installed with a radius of 400 meters around Shibuya. The final episode will be very intense as Geto and his team will carry out their plan to plunge Shibuya into chaos.
The entire neighborhood will become a war zone. In the middle of this Halloween, Gojo fights against some cursed spirits. Jogo, Hanami and Choso will attack Gojo simultaneously.
Gojo realizes that he cannot escape because the curse will kill all the civilians in the area. On the other hand, the cursed trio will start brutally slaughtering people just to bait Gojo.
Meanwhile, Yuji begins to get clues about Mahito, the cursed spirit he has wanted to defeat since the first season.
